Cian como el océano

Decidí hacer este trabajo fotográfico sobre los tonos del mar. Para eso utilizo la técnica de la cianotipia. Imprimo el negativo de mis fotografías, pinto unos papeles de acuarela de buena calidad con químicos reactivos a la luz solar y luego proyecto mis negativos sobre ese papel bajo luz ultravioleta. A veces lavo el papel impreso con agua clara, a veces con agua mezclada con café o té para crear un efecto especial. Todo el trabajo se realiza dentro de mi velero, en el agua. Me gusta que los encuadres no estén perfectamente delimitados, me gusta darle un movimiento al pincel, obtener una imagen que venga del mar, que se sienta el mar, con sus corrientes, sus vientos, su constante movimiento.

J'ai décidé de faire ce travail photographique sur les tons de la mer. Pour cela j'utilise la technique du cyanotype. J'imprime le négatif de mes photographies, je peins du papier aquarelle de bonne qualité avec des produits chimiques réactifs à la lumière du soleil, puis je projette mes négatifs sur ce papier sous une lumière UV. Parfois je lave le papier imprimé à l'eau claire, parfois avec de l'eau mélangée à du café ou du thé pour faire un effet spécial. Tout le travail se fait à l'intérieur de mon voilier, sur l'eau. J'aime que les cadres ne soient pas parfaitement délimités, j'aime donner un mouvement au pinceau, pour obtenir une image qui vient de la mer, qui ressemble à la mer, avec ses courants, ses vents, son mouvement constant.

Cyan as the ocean

I decided to do this photographic work on the tones of the sea. For that I use the cyanotype technique. I print the negative of my photographs, I paint some good quality watercolor papers with chemicals reactive to sunlight, and then I project my negatives on that paper under UV light. Sometimes I wash the printed paper with clear water, sometimes with water mixed with coffee or tea to make a special effect- All the work is done inside my sailboat, on the water. I like that the frames are not perfectly delimited, I like to give a movement to the brush, to obtain an image that comes from the sea, that feels like the sea, with its currents, its winds, its constant movement.
